Tweeter users have recently discovered a weird behavior of Tweeter’s cropping photos functionality. This image preview function aims to crop big photos and to select the part of them to be visible for users. It appears that Tweeter’s algorithm shows a preference to pictures of white people over those of people with darker skin pigmentation. In other words, given a picture with a white and a black person, the algorithm would crop the part of the picture with the black face and show only the white face considering it as the most important part of the image.
